Volunteers needed to help with organ pipes delivery

More than 3500 organ pipes will arrive at the Cathedral of Christ the Light next month to complete the cathedral’s organ. Volunteers are being sought to help unload and carry the pipes and other components into the cathedral when they are delivered by organ builder Orgues Letourneau Limitee on Oct. 15 and Oct. 26.

The unloading will begin at 8 a.m. and continue through most of the morning on both days. Persons can volunteer for either or both days.

The lengthy process of installing and tuning the pipes will begin shortly after the pipes are delivered.

Anyone interested in helping with the delivery, should contact John McDonnell at jmcdonnell@reedsmith.com or call (510) 466-6902.
