More commentary

Readers will notice more improvements with this issue of The Catholic Voice.

In response to reader demand, we are adding more room for commentary. We have created two new, facing Forum pages in the print edition, the content of which you'll find under the FORUM tab above. This added space allows us to publish more insightful guest columns, from Oakland diocese residents to international thought leaders. Letters from readers can be opposite the commentaries in the print edition, but on occasions when we have more letters than one page can hold, we can now accommodate them all, rather than holding them for a future issue or not publishing them.

The Forum will always be on the last two inside pages of the print edition (and under the FORUM tab above), and the Datelines calendar of events and Around the Diocese news will move ahead of the Forum pages.

As is the case in many diocesan newspapers, Page 2 of the print edition will become the page for official Church news, whether from the diocese, the U.S. bishops or The Vatican. The content of that page will appear under the THE CHURCH tab above.
