“Go! Glorify the Lord by Your Life!” will set the theme for this year’s Faith Formation conference, Nov. 18-19, at the Santa Clara Convention Center.

The Diocese of Oakland joins with the Archdiocese of San Francisco, and the Dioceses of Monterey, San Jose and Stockton for this annual multicultural and multilingual event that highlights the importance of faith development at all levels of Church and society.

Wendy Scherbart, catechetical director for the Diocese of San Jose, and one of the principal planners, explained the conference’s nearly 100 workshops and 50 speakers are aimed at adults to help enrich their faith and strengthen their knowledge and skill to do ministry in their Church and world.

More than 2,500 attendees are expected to come from all over northern California to attend a variety of workshops that will be offered in English, Spanish and Vietnamese.

Parishioners and parents are encouraged to attend along with parish ministers including pastors, pastoral associates, school principals and teachers, catechists, liturgists, youth and social ministers.

Scherbart explained that the event provides Catholic formation, education and training in catechesis, liturgy, social justice, youth and young adult ministry, family life and ethnic ministry.
