Parishes lifeblood of the diocese

Our people in their parishes make us what we are. In this section, we recognize each parish and offer some interesting statistics of all the people, Catholics and non-Catholics, who live there. Besides income, age and education, one number we thought was interesting was that of single-parent households — homes with a single parent and a child or children (under age 18) living in them.

Where our numbers come from: In a large part, Percept Group Inc., which mines U.S. Census data; the Chancery office, whose numbers are based on reporting by each parish; and the Glenmary Research Center, which analyzes national Catholic socio-demographic trends.
