Walk to End Poverty
Hundreds of people, including those from several Diocese of Oakland parishes, formed teams of 10 to participate in the Seventh Annual Walk to End Poverty, part of an interfaith effort May 19 at Oakland's Lake Merritt. The event included entertainment, food, dance, information booths and activities for children. The Walk to End Poverty is hosted by the Alameda County-Oakland Community Action Partnership (AC-OCAP) to educate the public about the social issues that affect poverty throughout Alameda County.
