Oct. 15
Bishop Larry Silva of Honolulu, a former priest of the Oakland diocese, will say a memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 15 at St. Augustine Church, 400 Alcatraz Ave., Oakland, for deceased members of the Bishop O'Dowd Class of 1967. It is the weekend of the 50th anniversary of the BOD class, which included Bishop Silva. On Oct. 14, more than 100 members of the class will gather to reminisce at their reunion at Trader Vic's in Emeryville. Class members are involved in the parish choir, and will read the First Reading and Epistle at the Mass.
